The AGILE project commence the disbursement of conditional cash Transfer (CCT)

The AGILE project has commence disbursement of conditional cash Transfer (CCT) of over three hundred million naira to targeted girl beneficiaries in JSS 1 and SSS 1 from 19 rural local government areas of the state.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Education Abdullahi Yanshana, during the official flag off ceremony of the School Improvement Grants and conditional cash transfer at Government Girls Secondary School Kwa, Dawakin Tofa Local Government area of the state.

The commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary ministry of Education Bello Tukur Rogo, said that  the project has disbursed 100% School Improvement Grants (SIGs) to 614 phase I public JSS and SSS, and first 50% to additional 614 phase ll schools.

In his speech the Executive Secretary, Kano State Teachers Board Dr. Bello Shehu, urged the parents and guarding of the beneficiaries for judicious utilization of these funds.

Meanwhile, the Project Coordinator highlighted the motive behind the gigantic project of AGILE in Kano state, where he made mention that Kano is a beacon of hope and triumph in implementing the project in Nigeria

The November cum august meeting involved top- level Government officials, traditional institutions, religious leaders, principals, parents, teachers, student and other relevant stakeholders in Kano state more especially financial institutions amongst others.
