Investment: We are ready to support Chinese Investors on Cement Production. – D.G Kan-Invest
The Director General Kano Investment Promotion Agency Hajiya Hama Ali Aware has unveiled plans by the Agency to support chinese investors to establish cement factory in the Sate.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director Public Enlightenment, KanInvest Balarabe Abdullahi , added that she gave the assurance while receiving a team of Chinese investors who came to Kano from Niger republic to establish cement factory in the state.
Hajiya Hama Ali who described cement production as one of the most popular business with more customers in and outside Nigeria, noted that Kano remains the best centre for such commercial activities.
The Director General said with this new development, the agency would not hesitate to provide the investors with all the necessary information and incentives required to make their investment on Cement production a huge success.
Hama added that…” there is a lot of commercial and economic benefits in creating conducive investment environment that responds to the needs of our people and our teeming investors.
” Hence in his attempt to make Kano a mega commercial city, Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has embarked on the provision of qualitative and robust infrastructure at strategic locations to boost investment opportunities in the state”.
According to her, the Chinese investors would have other areas of opportunities that include the on going establishment of AKK Gas Pipeline Project at Tamburawa which could be used as the factory’s source of power and Dala Dry Port for importation and exportation of their goods respectively.

Aware further maintained that as the agency is mandated to ensure conducive atmosphere for investors in the state, it’s door will continue to remain opened towards giving all the necessary support and cooperation.
” I want to assure you that extending your cement factory from Niger republic to Kano will be a great advantage to you as you can find all the enabling environment to operate here successfully.
” My office is always there to guide and help you to get as much as land, tax free holiday, security and other services that you may require from our competent staff to invest in Kano ” said Hama.
Earlier, the team leader of the chinese investors also the Managing Director of UBM Nigeria Limited Mr. Ru Changyu revealed that they were at the Director General’s office to get all the necessary information and support on how to establish a cement factory in Kano.
” We have established our factory for building materials at Tawa in Niger republic, so we are now planning to import those raw materials specifically on cement production and creat new factory in Kano.
“We have another factory at Abuja but we know how powerful Kano is interms of commercial activities, so, we need Kano to be used as major center for producing and distribution of our cement” Changyu explained.
He then solicited for Kano State Government support and cooperation to enable them succeed in the investment plans and thanked the Director General Kano Investment Promotion Agency for the warm reception accorded to them.
During, the visit, the Director General was together with all Directors of the Agency and the former Permenent Secretary Kano State Ministry of Commerce and now member Kano Emirate Council Advisory Committee Baba Dantiye.
